The three cottages are the former lighthouse keepers' accommodation before the light was automated and are surrounded by beautiful scenery, dramatic coastline and a wealth of wildlife right on your doorstep.
The Mull of Galloway Lightkeeper’s Cottage has two bedrooms, a double and a twin bedroom with fresh linen and towels provided. A fully equipped holiday home kitchen incorporates everything you need for a home-from-home experience including a fridge, freezer, washer, dishwasher and microwave. A cosy sitting room has a relaxing sofa and two armchairs and a view of the sea with a TV, DVD player and CD to entertain you. Lightkeeper’s Cottage has a newly fitted bathroom with bath and shower over, fitted furniture and an electric towel rail and all towels are provided. This cosy holiday cottage is centrally heated, cosy and warm.
Kittiwake House has a superking size bedroom and two twin bedrooms sleeping 6 people. There is a cosy sitting room with a multi-fuel burner and comfortable furnishings. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for your perfect self-catering holiday including a dishwasher, washer, fridge freezer and microwave. The large bright bathroom has a bath and separate shower cubicle and all towels are provided.Kittiwake House is fully centrally heated. Kittiwake House has a TV and DVD player, CD player, lots of books and magazines, a telephone with honesty box and tourist information and maps to plan your days out in the Rhins of Galloway and further afield.
Puffin House at the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse is centrally heated, cosy, bright and warm. A multi fuel burner in the living room is perfect for restful evenings after a day out walking in the Rhins of Galloway. Everything is provided for your relaxing holiday in south west Scotland – TV and DVD player, CD player, books and magazines, telephone with honesty box and tourist information. Puffin House has 3 cosy bedrooms – 1 double and 2 twin bedded rooms. There is a fully equipped holiday home kitchen including a washer, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. The sitting room has a multi fuel burner, comfortable furnishings and a family sized dining table. A spacious bathroom has a bath and separate shower cubicle and all towels are provided.
Climb the Lighthouse
At the Mull of Galloway there is a working Lighthouse which was established in 1830 by Robert Stevenson. The tower is 26 meters high and there are 115 steps to the top. Visit the top and learn about the history of this Stevenson Tower, admire the sea views and amazing natural beauty of the environment from this elevated position. Enjoy the views across to the Isle of Man, the Cumbrian hills and across to Ireland and the Mountains of Mourne.
